Lady Solicitor Personal Injury Claim Lady Justice Old Bailer

Compensation for needlestick injury

Our client was employed as a domestic refuse collector. During the course of his work he was in the process of collecting refuse from a house when he suffered a needlestick injury due to a hypodermic syringe being improperly discarded into the household refuse.

Due to the nature of the injury the claimant was very concerned about the risk of becoming infected with diseases such as hepatitis and so underwent a series of blood tests and course of counselling.

We issued a personal injury claim on his behalf. Liability was admitted by the householder’s insurance, but denied by the employer. Compensation was agreed in the sum of £2,500.
