Lady Solicitor Personal Injury Claim Lady Justice Old Bailer

Road accident in Cornwall results in £38,000 compensation payout

Mrs J from Marazion, Cornwall, was a front seat passenger in a car. The driver lost control of the car and collided with a cottage.

She was taken by ambulance to the local hospital and following x-rays was advised that she had suffered multiple fractures to her left foot and heel. Mrs J suffered significant ongoing symptoms. Unfortunately as the case progressed, the driver passed away but the claim was dealt with by her motor insurers, who admitted liability.

After medical evidence was obtained the insurers put forward an offer to settle the accident claim for £27,500. On our advice, the offer of compensation was rejected. We arranged for further supporting evidence to be obtained, including witness statements from friends and relatives who were able to confirm how reliant on others her injuries had made her. Following disclosure of this evidence the insurance company increased their offer and Mrs J finally accepted £38,000 in settlement of her compensation claim.
